Winter Self-Care Guide

Always thinking of everyone else in the festive season? It's time to think about you! Instead of a gift guide this year, we have created a self-care guide for you.

This is a little reminder to take care of yourself ahead of the festive season rush. It is so easy to forget to take care of yourself during the holiday season as you plan, prepare, and think about all your nearest and dearest.

  • Nourish your skin - Now is the time to switch up your winter skincare routine. If you love your facial oils for day-time but need some deeper nourishment, apply your oil as normal then layer a small amount of balm wherever you need it. Need more? Switch your daily facial oil for a face balm during cold weather.

  • Skip the hot bath - A hot bath or shower may seem like the perfect winter self care ritual, but hot water can strip the skin’s natural oils and actually leave skin dehydrated. Instead, embrace cold water! Not only does cold water boost circulation, it can make skin appear tighter.

  • Wear woollies - Protect your skin by wearing appropriate wearing during cold snaps. Rich balms are ideal for protecting your skin during cold weather. Apply hand balm whenever you go out and add a pair of gloves to further protection.

  • Layer up - Look after your lips by layering up a repairing balm with a lip balm. It’s easy for lips to become sore and chapped during cold weather. For an easy fix, apply Calm Balm regularly followed by Calm Lip Balm to keep your lips soft and conditioned.

  • Get creative - Take yourself away from the screen and let your creativity flow. Engaging in craft activities has been shown to help combat stress and alleviate anxiety. And what’s even better, the festive season is the perfect time for sharing your handmade creations.

  • Stay hydrated - It can be easy to forget one of our bodies most basic needs, especially during the busy festive season. Spritz a facial mist directly onto skin for a hydrating boost. If you're not good at drinking water during cold weather, have a cup of soothing herbal tea to warm you up.

  • Buff up - Get your glow back with a restorative body scrub. Gently massage a generous amount onto dry skin two to three times per week. Massage in upward circular motions to help boost circulation. Apply light pressure for a gentle scrub, being mindful not to over do it. Then rinse and pat dry.

  • Use Affirmations - Affirmations are positive statements that help you overcome negative thoughts. Making affirmations part of our daily routine leads to the habit of having positive thoughts. They can also help when used in the moment to ground yourself during stressful or overwhelming situations. You may use an uplifting affirmation or a calming one. For example, I am calm and at peace. Or I feel positive lifting energy.
